Alaska Trial Court Name Index (Old System)
Updated quarterly - data current through September 30, 2009
What's included: The Name Index includes case information
for courts that have not yet migrated to the court system's new case management
system, which is called CourtView. During the transition to the new
system, you will need to search both CourtView and the Name Index
to get complete statewide information. You only need to search CourtView
to see all the records from courts that have migrated to that system. Click
on this link for data for courts that have migrated to the
CourtView Case Information System. Also, no data is currently available electronically for the following courts: Angoon, Aniak, Chevak, Emmonak, Hoonah, Kake, St. Mary’s, Skagway, and Yakutat. Please contact those courts directly for case information.

CAUTIONS:
Currency of information: This database is updated quarterly, so amended
information may not appear for up to 4 months. This may be especially
important in criminal cases, where charges are often added or reduced as the
case progresses. Contact
the court in which the matter was filed for the most current information.
Verify identity: Do not assume that a person listed in these databases
is the person you are looking for without at least confirming that the
date of birth is the same. The court system cautions
employers, credit agencies, and others to verify identity before taking any
adverse action against a person whose name appears in this index.
Additional identifying information may be available in the case file. To request
a copy of documents from the case file, contact
the court in which the matter was filed.
Types of cases included: The Name Index provides civil and criminal
case information, but does not include information about traffic cases and other
minor offenses, or confidential cases. Information about cases that have been
appealed to the Alaska Supreme Court or the Alaska Court of Appeals is available
on the Appellate Courts Case Management
System website.
Corrections to case information: If you believe a record contains a
factual error, please contact the clerk
of court where the matter was filed.
